Laskar Pelangi is the first novel by Andrea Hirata that published on 2005. The novel bases on the writer’s true life childhood with his 9 best friends in island call Belitong. The Novel tells us about 10 poor children; Ikal, Lintang, Sahara, Mahar, A kiong, Syahdan, Kucai, Borek aka Samson, Trapani and Harun struggling together to get an education, their learning together in the same school from SD Class 1 (Elementary school) to SMP class 3 (Junior High School), their school just an ordinary school with full of limitation, but they never give up to get an education, they called themselve Laskar Pelangi. It’s so touchy story, full of spirit and can encourage many people to get formal education. Andrea can express the situation and the emotional on this book very well. You should read this book

This Qaisra Shahraz’s novel is a very...very touching story about love, passion, sacrifice and family intrigues. Reading this novel made me dissolved into tears.

Tips for Breast-Feeding Success

• If you can, breast-feed within an hour after your baby's birth
• Put your nipple as far back in your baby's mouth as possible. This will make you more comfortable
• Breast-feed your baby regularly and frequently, even as often as every two hours and at least eight times in a 24-hour period
• Don't give your baby sugar water or formula unless your doctor or nurse tells you to do so. Your baby usually will not need extra sugar water or formula
• Air dries your nipples to prevent cracking and soreness
• Eat a healthy diet
• Rest as much as you can
• Drink plenty of fluids, including water
• Ask for help with other children, housework, and cooking. Your most important job is taking care of your new baby and yourself
• Be patient. It will take time for you and your baby to learn how to breast-feed

Tukang Parkir

Ketika masih SD, aku dan Papap pergi ke toko onderdil mobil di pinggir jalan. Mobil diparkir di parkiran depan toko yang menanjak. Karena malas turun, aku menunggu dimobil. Sambil menunggu Papap kembali, iseng-iseng aku duduk dibelakang setir sambil pura-pura menyetir, eh tak disengaja rem tangannya terlepas, mundurlah tuh mobil. Dengan panik aku menengok ke belakang, kebetulan ada tukang parkir. Bukannya bantuin, dia malah lari ke pinggir jalan raya sambil teriak “ Yaa.. Truuuss… Truuss… Kanan dikiiit…kanaan..” Busyet dah.. untung aku cepat2 nginjek rem..

Breast Milk

The news about babies and children with bad nutrition in the TV lately makes me as a mother sad. It must be because of their economic condition.

I’m very grateful that I can give breast milk to my babies. Well, we all know that breastfeeding is the best for baby. Why?

• Breast-feeding helps you recover from childbirth and appear to improve your long-term health

Give your baby breast milk exclusively until age 6 month, nothing else besides breast milk, than you can combine it with baby’s food. If you can, keep continue breast feeding your child at least 2 times a day until they are 2 years old.

I think breast milk is the most precious gift that you can give to your baby.
