Shopaholic

Shopping, hmm…who doesn’t like shopping, especially us, women..
Have you read the novel series “Shopaholic” by Sophie Kinsella? They are my favorite, it is funny, light reading but very entertaining. But the saddest thing is when I lost that book, the first series “Confessions of a Shopaholic”. I kept at my mom’s house, but that time when I lost most of my collections because of the termite, I went to my mom’s house to check it out… and I just find other series beside that book… I don’t know whether my mom had thrown it away or there was somebody who borrowed without asking. Well, I have to buy it again…!!

Few months ago it was filmed with title as the first book “Confessions of a Shopaholic”. But anyway, I haven’t watched it yet. I hope it is as funny as the book. Have you watched it?

Sang Pemimpi

It’s been months after I had read the second book of Andrea Hirata’sLaskar Pelangi” tetra logy, but Ikal and his world always in my mind. Like the title, this book is about Ikal, Arai and Jimbon as a dreamer who want to make their dreams comes true: school in France! It was impossible, since they come from poor family and have to pay their own school by working hard as a laborer. But they not only dare to dream but also fight to make it happen. I cried when they finally got their dreams come true as if it was happened to myself. It was remembering me to The Secret, The Law of Attraction. All dreams can be true as long as we believe in that.

Similar to the first books, the memoir of Ikal, Arai and Jimbon are full of experiences, inspiring story and of course humor. Andrea success to play with reader emotion in this book, in some part he tells us the scene in detail description. The lesson that we got in this books is we have to believe ourselves that we can be success and we have to fight for it. Nothing is impossible!

It’s a great and inspiring book, 2 thumbs up, you have to read it!

Laskar Pelangi

Laskar Pelangi is the first novel by Andrea Hirata that published on 2005. The novel bases on the writer’s true life childhood with his 9 best friends in island call Belitong. The Novel tells us about 10 poor children; Ikal, Lintang, Sahara, Mahar, A kiong, Syahdan, Kucai, Borek aka Samson, Trapani and Harun struggling together to get an education, their learning together in the same school from SD Class 1 (Elementary school) to SMP class 3 (Junior High School), their school just an ordinary school with full of limitation, but they never give up to get an education, they called themselve Laskar Pelangi. It’s so touchy story, full of spirit and can encourage many people to get formal education. Andrea can express the situation and the emotional on this book very well. You should read this book

You can take a look Andrea Hirata background at www.Sastrabelitong.multiply.com

Perempuan Suci

It was about a beautiful and modern woman in her country, Pakistan. She who always speaks out about feminism was forced by her father in the name of family tradition to release her freedom and become a Holy Woman. She must not marry. This is happened exactly when she just found her truly love.

This Qaisra Shahraz’s novel is a very...very touching story about love, passion, sacrifice and family intrigues. Reading this novel made me dissolved into tears.

This is a must read Novel!!
