Nina Oh Nina

OOoo MY GOD!! I was shocked when my mom called and told me that my comic collections were eaten by termites.

Do you still remember the Comics from Europe such as Asterix, Nina, Agen Polisi 212, Bob Si Napi Badung?? I’m sure you do! Nina is my favorite. Seeing those comics made my mind flew to the 80’s when they were very popular. I’ve collecting them since I was teenager.It wasn’t easy to get them. To collect all editions is my obsession and the termites ruin everything…

I want to cry, every time I remember them… after all of my effort to get them... I lost almost all editions of Agen Polisi and Bob, and I only have 82 Ninas left.

The worst is the used book store that I regularly visited is no longer there… I don’t know where it is now and I don’t have they number.. (I thought it will be there forever!!)

OK, STOP be so sentimental, wipe off your tears and move on!

Buttermilk Pancake

Servings : 8 pieces

Differs from Basic Pancake, this is using Buttermilk instead that made them lighter and fluffier. This is become my family favorite recipe from now on, even my 2 year old son who always picky, grabbed 1 ½ pieces of these. His favorite when served with ice cream and chocolate sauce or with scrambled egg and sausage. Well both sweet and salty are yummy..

INGREDIENTS :

• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 tablespoon white sugar
• 2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon vanilla powder
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup buttermilk*
• 3 tablespoons milk
• 1 egg, slightly beaten
• 2 tablespoon butter, melted

DIRECTIONS :

1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, vanilla powder and salt. In a separate bowl, beat together buttermilk, milk, eggs and melted butter. Keep the two mixtures separate until you are ready to cook.
2. Heat a frying pan over medium high heat.
3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture. Stir until it's just blended together. Do not over stir! Pour or scoop the batter onto the pan, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

NOTE :

• Buttermilk substitute with : 1 cup milk/cream + 1 Tbsp lemon juice. Stir well. Let it sit fir about 10 min until lumps up.

• Let your buttermilk, milk and eggs sit out for an hour before baking to get to room temperature and you'll get increased fluff on these.

Kurumie

Talking about artwork, there’s one that interesting me. It’s Kurumie (Oshie), one of the famous Japanese handicrafts. Different with Origami (paper folding), Kurumie is an art of wrapping picture, using Japanese paper, called Chiyogami and sponge that are adhered one by one until become a past Japanese’s shape. It’s a little bit complicated and need an extra accuracy.

But, after see the result, all the tired is gone. It feels so happy and proud to make such a beautiful Japanese girl shape. It can be hang on the wall in your living room to get the beauty and the spirit of Japan.

Naga Bonar is Back

Who had seen Naga Bonar Jadi 2 the movie, must be curious about the 1^st Naga Bonar Movie. This old movie told about Bonaga’s Father, Naga Bonar when he was young: His experience, adventures and all the crazy moment in his life. It’s very interesting and funny. For all who haven’t seen Naga Bonar movie can release his breath, because it is replay on theater now.. oo yeaa.. Naga Bonar is back!! With a new cover, it looks fresher and more interesting

Januarisman (Aris) The Becoming Idol in Indonesian Idol

Amazing!!! That’s what I felt when I heard his singing for the first time in Indonesian Idol audition last month. His husky voice amazed everybody, including me. No wonder if he will be the next Indonesian Idol. Let’s check it out!

Sang Pemimpi

It’s been months after I had read the second book of Andrea Hirata’s “Laskar Pelangi” tetra logy, but Ikal and his world always in my mind. Like the title, this book is about Ikal, Arai and Jimbon as a dreamer who want to make their dreams comes true: school in France! It was impossible, since they come from poor family and have to pay their own school by working hard as a laborer. But they not only dare to dream but also fight to make it happen. I cried when they finally got their dreams come true as if it was happened to myself. It was remembering me to The Secret, The Law of Attraction. All dreams can be true as long as we believe in that.

Similar to the first books, the memoir of Ikal, Arai and Jimbon are full of experiences, inspiring story and of course humor. Andrea success to play with reader emotion in this book, in some part he tells us the scene in detail description. The lesson that we got in this books is we have to believe ourselves that we can be success and we have to fight for it. Nothing is impossible!

It’s a great and inspiring book, 2 thumbs up, you have to read it!
