Laskar Pelangi is the first novel by Andrea Hirata that published on 2005. The novel bases on the writer’s true life childhood with his 9 best friends in island call Belitong. The Novel tells us about 10 poor children; Ikal, Lintang, Sahara, Mahar, A kiong, Syahdan, Kucai, Borek aka Samson, Trapani and Harun struggling together to get an education, their learning together in the same school from SD Class 1 (Elementary school) to SMP class 3 (Junior High School), their school just an ordinary school with full of limitation, but they never give up to get an education, they called themselve Laskar Pelangi. It’s so touchy story, full of spirit and can encourage many people to get formal education. Andrea can express the situation and the emotional on this book very well. You should read this book

It was about a beautiful and modern woman in her country, Pakistan. She who always speaks out about feminism was forced by her father in the name of family tradition to release her freedom and become a Holy Woman. She must not marry. This is happened exactly when she just found her truly love.

This Qaisra Shahraz’s novel is a very...very touching story about love, passion, sacrifice and family intrigues. Reading this novel made me dissolved into tears.

Tips for Breast-Feeding Success

• If you can, breast-feed within an hour after your baby's birth
• Put your nipple as far back in your baby's mouth as possible. This will make you more comfortable
• Breast-feed your baby regularly and frequently, even as often as every two hours and at least eight times in a 24-hour period
• Don't give your baby sugar water or formula unless your doctor or nurse tells you to do so. Your baby usually will not need extra sugar water or formula
• Air dries your nipples to prevent cracking and soreness
• Eat a healthy diet
• Rest as much as you can
• Drink plenty of fluids, including water
• Ask for help with other children, housework, and cooking. Your most important job is taking care of your new baby and yourself
• Be patient. It will take time for you and your baby to learn how to breast-feed

Ketika masih SD, aku dan Papap pergi ke toko onderdil mobil di pinggir jalan. Mobil diparkir di parkiran depan toko yang menanjak. Karena malas turun, aku menunggu dimobil. Sambil menunggu Papap kembali, iseng-iseng aku duduk dibelakang setir sambil pura-pura menyetir, eh tak disengaja rem tangannya terlepas, mundurlah tuh mobil. Dengan panik aku menengok ke belakang, kebetulan ada tukang parkir. Bukannya bantuin, dia malah lari ke pinggir jalan raya sambil teriak “ Yaa.. Truuuss… Truuss… Kanan dikiiit…kanaan..” Busyet dah.. untung aku cepat2 nginjek rem..

Breast Milk

The news about babies and children with bad nutrition in the TV lately makes me as a mother sad. It must be because of their economic condition.

I’m very grateful that I can give breast milk to my babies. Well, we all know that breastfeeding is the best for baby. Why?

Because:

• Breast milk provides sugars, fats, protein, and vitamins that are just right for your baby
• Breast milk may help keep your baby from getting sick
• Sucking on the breast is good for your baby's jaw
• It helps future teeth grow straight
• Free, you don’t have to pay
• You can give breast milk anytime your baby wants
• You don't have spending time to sterilize bottles
• You don’t have to warm the milk up
• Breast-feeding helps you recover from childbirth and appear to improve your long-term health

Give your baby breast milk exclusively until age 6 month, nothing else besides breast milk, than you can combine it with baby’s food. If you can, keep continue breast feeding your child at least 2 times a day until they are 2 years old.

I think breast milk is the most precious gift that you can give to your baby.

You must be proud to have talent that brings you luck, but what if something that becomes joke among friends can unexpectedly be the trendsetter.

It’s happen to a new comer actress, Cinta Laura. This Indo German girl has a unique language, mix Bahasa and English. The way she talks, makes others people make fun of it. Her accent is so funny to hear. Everything she said becomes a joke among us these days. But now, BOOMM!!…one of her dialogues becomes famous ringtone with various versions. Will she make a copyright for it? Well, I don’t know. But this is must be familiar with your ears: “Mana Hujyan… Ga Ada Ojyek…Becyeek..”

I think it is phenomenal, that simple sentences can be so famous and become trendsetter…

Dufan dan Nenekku

Kejadiannya sudah lama sekali, waktu itu keluargaku jalan2 ke Dufan. Tak disangka, nenekku tidak menolak ketika diajak naik Kora-Kora. Pertama sih masih senyum-senyum, lama-lama pucat dan akhirnya muntah di dalam Kora-Kora. Ketika turun, dengan jalan yang masih sempoyongan, muka pucat dan tangan menutup mulut, nenekku bergumam sesuatu sambil menunjuk ke tempat muntahan tersebut, tanteku cepat2 menjawab “ Udah ga apa-apa Mih, biarin aja, orang muntah disitu dah biasa”. Ketika nenek hendak bicara lagi, yang lain juga cepat2 ikut menenangkan “ Biarin aja, ga usah khawatir, entar ada orang yang bersihin kok”. Karena kesal, akhirnya nenekku melepas tangannya dan bilang : “Itu gigi palsunya ketinggalan!!!” ....Alamaaak!!!

Antena

Karena belum pasang antena luar, terpaksa antena panjang diatas tv harus diputar2 ke kanan-kiri ketika salurannya jelek. Waktu itu saya nyuruh pembantu baru untuk ngegerakin antena, karena kadang2 suka nyetrum, saya suruh dia pakai sandal. Trus saya tinggal sebentar untuk ambil minum, pas balik ke ruang TV..walah.. tu sandal bukannya dipakai dikaki, malah dipakai buat megangin antena..
